Greetings parents and students!
We are looking forward to our new location this school year in the Archer Building as Bunche Middle School is being renovated to a “state of the art” middle school building. We really are Building a Better Bunche!
This upcoming school year, some things will be the same and some different, get ready this summer to have a great 2013-2014 school year! Please review the school registration dates, and plan to register your child before the first day of school
What is new?
· School will begin at 9:05 and end at 4:05.
New Location Archer Building 2250 Perry Blvd.
· New bus pick up times, this information will be available in late July.
What is the same?
· We expect ALL students to wear the school uniform. 6th grade, white shirts, 7th grade royal blue shirts and, 8th grade gold shirts ALL grades wear khaki bottoms. Students will need 5 uniform shirts and at least 3 bottoms
· Students need

· School supplies
- loose leaf paper,
- 2 inch three ring binder
- 4 composition books/4 folders
- 1 jump/flash drive
- Pencil pouch
- Supply of pens and pencils (don’t bring them all to school on the first day)
- There may be additional supplies requested by the teacher
Dear Bunche Parent,
This school year has been one of challenge, uncertainty and excitement. Through it all, our students as a school demonstrated growth in every area measured by the CRCT except Language arts which remained the same with 89% of students meeting or exceeding the Standards. We remain committed to Building a Better Bunche!
As I write this letter we are in the final stages of packing the school to move to our temporary location, Archer High School. During the 2013-14 school year, Bunche Middle School will begin a year and a half renovation that will result in a state of the art Bunche Middle School building!
Important Information for parents and students:
Ø The Bunche Middle School temporary location is the former Archer High located 2250 Perry Blvd, Atlanta, Georgia, 30318. The temporary location is 12 miles from our current location.
Ø APS transportation department will provide the revised school bus pick up times for students as we are closer to the start of school.
Ø Parents/guardians are required to register students EACH school year and update contact information. Bunche registration dates are July 29 –August 7. Parents are encouraged to register students BEFORE the first day of school. Registration times are 8:30 – noon and 1:00- 3:00; Late hours for registration noon – 6:00PM July 30th and August 1st
Ø The first day of school is Wednesday, August 7. The school uniform remains, 6th grade white shirts, 7th blue shirts and 8th gold shirts, and khaki bottoms.
Ø Encourage your child to be involved in productive summer activities, reading, journaling, physical activities, volunteering and maybe part time work!
Ø Enclosed is the Report Card and CRCT scores. Use the summer to review achievement and progress to determine and target growth areas for 2013-14 school year. If your child owes for books or other fines, a hold is placed on school records.
