Forrest Hill Academy welcomes its new principal, Mr. Anthony Howell
  
  

Mr. Howell attended Montclair State University, NJ, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education/Health/Safety and Driver Education. He earned a Masters of Arts degree in Urban Education from New Jersey City University, NJ, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Administration from Jacksonville State University, AL.  Mr. Howell taught for 10 years in his hometown of Jersey City, NJ, before relocating to the Atlanta metro area. He served as an Assistant Principal and Principal, respectively, for 12 years in the state of Georgia. A career opportunity returned him to the northeast, where he served for the past three years as a Principal and Educational Consultant. Mr. Howell recently returned to the Atlanta and is excited about the opportunity to continue his career with Atlanta Public Schools. He believes he has been blessed with unique gifts, talents, abilities, and experience that have allowed him to be able to provide a high quality of service to those in need. This is evident in the fact he has spent his entire career serving the disadvantaged in both a traditional and nontraditional educational setting.

 Mr. Howell views his career in education as ministry and is thankful to have been chosen as the new Principal of Forrest Hill Academy.  He pledges to make a positive difference in the life of those he has been given the pleasure of serving, and welcomes community support.

Mr. Howell was born and raised in New Jersey and is the proud product of an inner city public school education. He is happily married to his wife Donna and they are blessed to have a son, Tashawn Lamar Howell who is an engineer and graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology.

  • Superintendent Search Committee community meetings

    The Superintendent Search Committee will hold community meetings at schools in every cluster. The purpose of the meetings is to obtain input regarding the profile for the next superintendent.  The meeting dates and locations are listed below. All meetings will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

     

    ·       May 15: North Region meetings will be held at Harper-Archer MS, the Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy and Sutton MS.

    ·       May 16: South Region meetings will be held at Long MS and Price MS.

    ·       May 20: West Region meetings will be held at Brown MS, Bunche MS and Young MS.

    ·       May 21: East Region meetings will be held at Inman MS and King MS.
