Eligibility

How Impacted

Rising 10^th, 11^th, and 12^th grade students

Must be currently enrolled during SY 2011-2012 in a high school impacted by redistricting

·   May remain at current school and no transportation will be provided

·   May elect to enroll in new zone school for SY2012-2013 – transportation provided

·   No exception for rising 9^th grade siblings; parents must decide if siblings will attend different schools

Rising 9^th grade students

Current APS students who will be attending 9^th grade during SY2012-2013

·    Must enroll in new zoned school

·    No exception to allow 9^th grade students to attend previous zone school with older sibling(s)

·    Parent must request general administrative transfer to attend any out of zone school – subject to capacity limitations

Rising 8^th grade students

Must be currently enrolled during SY 2011-2012 in a middle school impacted by redistricting

·    May remain at current school and no transportation will be provided

·    May elect to enroll in new zone school for SY2012-2013- transportation provided

·    No exception for rising 6^th and 7^th grade siblings; parents must decide if siblings will attend different schools unless transfers are approved for younger siblings though the general administrative transfer process

Rising 6^th and 7^th grade students

Current APS students who will be attending 6^th and 7^th grade during SY2012-2013

·   Must enroll in new zoned school

·   Parent must request general administrative transfer to attend any out of zone school – subject to capacity limitations

·   Rising 8^th grade siblings may elect to attend new zoned school

Rising 5^th grade students

Must be currently enrolled during SY 2011-2012 in an elementary school impacted by redistricting

·    May remain at current school and no transportation will be provided

·    May elect to enroll in new zoned school for SY2012-2013- transportation provided

·    No exception for rising K-4^th grade siblings; parents must decide if siblings will attend different schools unless transfers are approved for younger siblings though the general administrative transfer process

Rising Kindergarten - 4^th grade students*

Current APS students who will be attending  K-4^th  grades during SY 2012-2013

·   Must enroll in new zoned school

·    Parent must request general administrative transfer to attend any out of zone school – subject to capacity limitations

Student formerly zoned to Kennedy Middle

(Bethune ES, Connally ES, M.A. Jones ES and Venetian Hills ES)

Rising 6^th grade students

(includes retained)

·   Must enroll at new zoned school

Current Kennedy Middle School students

Rising 7^th and 8^th

grade students

·    May remain at Kennedy Middle School for SY 2012-2013 and SY 2013-2014 with transportation provided

·    May elect to enroll in new zone school (Brown Middle School) for SY2012-2013 with transportation provided

·    No exception for rising 6^th grade siblings; parents must decide if siblings will attend different schools. No general administrative transfers will be offered to Kennedy Middle School.

·   Must enroll at new zoned school

Parks Middle School

Rising 7th and 8th

·    May remain at Parks Middle School for SY 2012-2013 and SY 2013-2014 with transportation provided

·    May elect to enroll in new zoned school (Sylvan Hills MS, Price MS or King MS) for SY2012-2013 with transportation provided

·    No exception for rising 6^th grade siblings; parents must decide if siblings will attend different schools. No general administrative transfers will be offered to Parks Middle School.

All APS Elementary, Middle and High Schools students

Kindergarten – 12^th  students new to the school district

or

Kindergarten – 12^th grade students who move into the school attendance zone during SY2012-2013

·   Must enroll in zoned school based on SY2012-2013 school boundaries

·   Parents may apply for a transfer to an out-of-zone school through the general administrative transfer process.  Only schools with space available will be open for general administrative transfers.

All APS Elementary, Middle and High Schools students

Current APS students with a general administrative transfer approved prior to May 22, 2012

·   May remain at approved school through the highest grade

·   No transportation provided

·   Does not grant student approval to attend the next school in the cluster pattern

·   Upon completion of the highest grade, student must enroll in zoned school or receive approval to attend out of zone school through general administrative transfer process

All APS Elementary, Middle and High Schools students

Current APS students with No Child Left Behind School Choice Transfers approved prior to May 22, 2012

·   May remain at approved school through the highest grade

·   No transportation provided

·   Does not grant student approval to attend the next school in the cluster pattern

·   Upon completion of the highest grade, student must enroll in zone school or receive approval to attend out of zone school  through general administrative transfer process

All APS Rising 6^th – 11^th grade students

Rising 6^th – 11^th grade students

·   May apply to attend the single gender academies

·   No transportation provided

·   Single gender academies will serve grades 6-11 in SY 2012-2013 school year.  Rising seniors are not eligible to apply.

Students residing in Boyd, F. L. Stanton, Scott, Grove Park/Woodson and former  White, BEST MS/HS, CSKYWLA MS/HS attendance zones

Rising 6^th and 9^th grade students

·   Have the option of enrolling in the appropriate single gender academy

·   Will be given first preference for seats in appropriate single gender academies

·   Otherwise students attend Harper Archer MS and Douglass HS unless receives approval to attend out of zone school  through general administrative transfer process
