Superintendent Search Committee community meetings
The Superintendent Search Committee will hold community meetings at schools in every cluster. The purpose of the meetings is to obtain input regarding the profile for the next superintendent. The meeting dates and locations are listed below. All meetings will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
· May 15: North Region meetings will be held at Harper-Archer MS, the Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy and Sutton MS.
· May 16: South Region meetings will be held at Long MS and Price MS.
· May 20: West Region meetings will be held at Brown MS, Bunche MS and Young MS.
· May 21: East Region meetings will be held at Inman MS and King MS.
Atlanta Public School has modified its cell phone use policy to allow cell phones in school, ONLY WITH a completed parent permission and information form. If you have not yet completed this form, students are NOT allowed to have a cell phone. Teachers/staff will continue to take cellphones. Parents, please come to the front office to get confiscated phones and/or a permission form. Click for more info or a copy of the form.
Academic advisors are scheduled to meet with every student at Coan Middle to map out an Individual Student Learning Plan.
In January the Atlanta Board of Education adopted a new administrative regulation that requires each school to conduct screening of volunteers, and requires all volunteers to have on file with the school a completed Volunteer Release Form, which must be submitted with a copy of a government-issued photo ID.
