Burgess-Peterson Academy is one of the schools to watch in the coming months ahead. As we evolve into one of the highest performing elementary schools in the Atlanta Public School System, we have a rich heritage and legacy to be proud of.  Located in the Southeast corridor of the East Atlanta Community, Burgess-Peterson Academy currently serves approximately 260 students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grades. Our goal is to ensure that we provide students with hands-on and inquiry based teaching which will allow them an opportunity to continue to think critically and analytically for real-world application.  Over 80% of the faculty/staff hold advanced degrees in the field of education and we believe in life long learning. Burgess-Peterson Academy is a premier learning site, where our teachers uphold and embrace the S.O.A.R. model of excellence:

Standards are what we will teach every day at every grade level.

Our jobs are to teach children as we would want our own children taught.

Assessments and intensive data-monitoring will drive all of our decisions.

Rigorous and real-life instruction is the norm at Burgess-Peterson Academy.

As we S.O.A.R. to new heights of excellence for student achievement, we all embrace high expectations for all of our students to exceed standards, embrace diversity, and to excel in academics. The Burgess-Peterson Academy family seeks to nurture our children and provide the necessary support needed to learn at very high levels.

Teamwork…values…high expectations, all the while improving student success!!!!!
