Ralph J. Bunche Middle School

The mission of Bunche’s Guidance Program is to prepare students for academic success by providing a school counseling program that promotes academic, personal /emotional, social growth and cultural needs of all students. Students will be provided the opportunity to develop the understanding of self and the appreciation of others. Bunche counselors’ will meet with students through classroom guidance, groups, individually and will provide educational and occupational career exploration as we advance through the 21^st century. Additionally, the middle schools advisory program initiated through the  Atlanta Public Schools’  Transformation Program will provide a formal, established structure providing additional opportunities to support and assist students’ transition into and out of middle school, provide each middle school student with at least one adult advocate advisor, building community with peers, receiving  academic advisement, develop intrapersonal and interpersonal skills necessary to establish and promote a positive school culture and explore college and career options to gain awareness and promote character development.  At Bunche the advisory classes are scheduled every Thursday during each grade levels connection period.
