Welcome to Ms. Chavers' Class Website. I encourage you to visit our website weekly for school events, exciting news, and instructional updates. As each and everday passes, we're committed to learning. We're focused: ALL DAY, EVERY DAY, ALL YEAR!
I recognize the importance of my role as a teacher. As I impart knowledge upon my students, I must set clear expectations. I will lead students through educational activities with well-directed feedback. I am responsible for introducing students to a broad range of information and ways of thinking about the world. I’ll strive to help students “learn how to learn” what is useful for their lives. I believe that I must increase students’ awareness of social, cultural, economic, or political issues and help them understand how they can impact societal conditions that need to be changed. I am to facilitate, but not direct, learning activities that are meaningful to each student.
It is vital for all learners to realize their ability to make a difference in the world around them. All of our children deserve to be empowered on all levels. Students must be presented with opportunities to make self-directed choices about learning methods and outcomes relevant to their lives. As a teacher, I am committed to exploring alternatives, philosophical approaches, and research-based strategies to ensure that all students receive the best possible education. This is my mandatory, professional responsibility.
