Perkerson Elementary Media Center:
Mission Statement
The Perkerson Elementary School Media Center will endeavor to provide an engaging academic and social environment where students and teachers are supported in their pursuit of academic achievement. As a facilitator and an instructor, the media specialist will develop and maintain academic readiness by utilizing a variety of cutting edge technologies and software resources. As stakeholders: parents and community agents will be encouraged to promote programs and activities that stimulate, inspire, and motivate students to become lifelong learners.
Hours of Operation
Media Center opens at 7:30 a.m. and closes at 3:00 p.m. daily
Circulation Procedures
- Borrow up to 5 items for 1 week
- Current magazines are for Media Center use only
- Reference materials should be used in the media center
- Only teachers may check out DVD’s and audiovisual equipment
- All overdue items must be cleared before you borrow another book
- Staff and students must pay for damaged or lost materials
- All media materials must be checked out
Computer Use
- Students must follow the Atlanta Public Schools Acceptable Use Policy
- Computers are for educational and research purposes only
