The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement recognized 6 SRT 3 schools

The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement just recognized 370 schools for outstanding results with the 2011 Single Statewide Accountability System Award Winning Schools.

Four SRT 3 schools received honors in the Highest Performance for Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards:

Springdale Park Elementary School- Platinum Award

Morningside Elementary School- Gold Award

Lin Elementary School- Silver Award

Inman Middle School- Bronze Award

Two SRT 3 schools received honors in the Greatest Gain for Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards:

Toomer Elementary School- Gold Award

Parkside Elementary School- Gold Award

Under the No Child Left Behind legislation, and as mandated by state law, Georgia is required to develop a Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) which includes awards and consequences.

Awards are presented to schools that show excellence in student achievement and/or progress in student achievement. To date, awards have included recognition banners for all schools.
